2015 William Hill PDC World Championship - Day Nine - Alexandra PalaceVINCENT VAN DER VOORT recovered from losing the first two sets to claim a 4-2 victory over Kyle Anderson and move into the third round of the World Darts Championship.

The Dutch ace, who reached the quarter-finals at Alexandra Palace in last year’s tournament, hit nine 180s and sealed his impressive win with a brilliant 134 finish on Sunday afternoon.

van der Voort will take on defending champion Gary Anderson in the last 16 on Tuesday evening.

“Mentally, it was a very good performance,” said van der Voort, the world number 15.

“Coming from two sets down is very difficult so I’m pleased with myself for that.  I felt like I deserved to win at least one of the first two sets and it can be easy to let that get to you but I didn’t today.

“Gary is an amazing player and he’s not the World Champion for no reason but I’ve beat him before and I can do it again if I can raise my game.”

van der Voort missed five darts to win the first set and one to win the second before completing a gutsy recovery.

He took the third and fourth sets 3-1 and the fifth set 3-2 before wrapping up the win with a sixth set whitewash.
